The impact of cold on cardiovascular health

Cold weather can have serious consequences for cardiovascular health, as low temperatures cause blood vessels to constrict and increase blood pressure.

This can lead to excessive strain on the heart, increasing the risk of heart attacks such as heart attack or stroke, especially in people with cardiovascular disease.

The elderly and people with pre-existing heart disease should be particularly careful. Exposure to low temperatures can cause cardiovascular damage, even in the short term.

To protect yourself, it is important to dress appropriately, choosing clothing that retains body heat, and avoiding sudden temperature changes (e.g. going from cold to hot) is essential. Regular blood pressure monitoring and a healthy diet also help prevent this.

Physical exercise, although recommended to maintain good cardiovascular health, should be undertaken with caution during the winter months. Protect your heart with the right preventative measures so that you can have a healthy winter.
